It’s About Common Sense

Betsy Graves Mahan has a few things to say..

I recently retired after serving eight years as the Chair of the Sacramento County Republican Central Committee. Leading a county party is a challenge, but I had a fantastic group of volunteers that made it possible to succeed.

Central Committees vary from County to County, but ours was laser focused on electing common sense Republicans at all levels of government. We had many successes, including electing some kids-first parents to local school boards, adding Republicans to City Councils and the Sacramento Board of Supervisors, and flipping a seat from Democrat to Republican in the State Assembly.

I am very pleased the talented Christian Forte replaced me as chair, and now I am able to continue my involvement in the political arena, free to express my own views.

One of my priorities is to highlight the actions coming out of the Trump Administration so people can have hope that their best interests will be served. I am also advocating for Republican candidates who will carry the message that the GOP is open to all Americans who stand for freedom of speech, respect for taxpayers and people of faith, minimal and efficient government, and the right of parents to protect their children’s health and safety.

After 50+ years of political involvement, including as a U.S. Senate staffer, Assembly and City Council candidate, campaign manager, grassroots coordinator, political fundraiser, public and government affairs executive, digital marketing consultant, board member and leader of several non-profits, Betsy is refocusing her involvement as a member of the Capital Lincoln Club Board of Directors and mentor to candidates and young Republicans promoting common sense solutions.

Words to live by from Ronald Reagan:

“The person who agrees with you 80 percent of the time is a friend and an ally – not a 20 percent traitor.”
